Cuffley, Hertfordshire

High Laver

Built in 1864, this 7-acre country estate enjoys ornamental lakes, a swimming pool, tennis court, and a coach house. The interior brief was to create a warm and laid-back family home that was entirely tailored to the needs and lifestyle of the family that occupy it. That saw the 7 bedroom property converted into 3 vast bedroom suites with multiple dressing and accessory rooms and private sitting areas. A living experience akin to a boutique, country hotel.

Natural materials feature heavily, with traditional limestone flooring throughout the hallway and open plan kitchen, and a grand, cantilevered limestone staircase inspired by the Limewood Hotel. In contrast to the paired back nature of the interior architecture and hard finishes, there is exciting colour combinations and the use of pattern throughout the home, ensuring a sophisticated by slightly eclectic edge.

The coach house, positioned to the left of main house courtyard, has also undergone full renovation and internal reconfiguration. The rustic, scandi inspired interior provides self contained guest accommodation and an entertainment area to serve the outdoor pool. Photography of this area to follow.

The Coach House

The Coach House forms part of the High Laver Estate and has been designed for use as self-contained guest accommodation and a leisure facility to accompany the outdoor pool and tennis courts.  Distinctly different from the main house, the decor has a rustic, Scandinavian feel that is cozy and inviting.

Natural, relaxed materials are featured heavily, and with a particular focus on durability, with the use of high-performance fabrics and materials.
